It can feel difficult to figure out what the best way of eating is for you and your body, especially with all the confusing nutrition information we hear out in the world. Something so basic can feel overwhelming and complicated.
Breaking up with diet culture can feel scary.
Our society conditions us to believe that we should be worried about our food, and that our hunger and enjoyment are threats to our health.
If you've spent years of your life following strict diets and obsessing over food, chances are good you feel exhausted and disempowered. You may even feel like a failure because nothing you try "works" or you can't seem to stay "on track."
All you want is peace with food. With the help of nutrition counseling, you can learn to trust your body and yourself to get and stay nourished, so you can the life you deserve.

Many people spend years of their lives going on and off diets.
In fact, at any given time, about one‑third of Americans are actively following some type of diet. The most popular diets recently have been intermittent fasting and keto. The thing is, there's no good research that connects diets like these to positive health outcomes or weight loss (like they promise). Oftentimes, they usually just leave people feeling disconnected, frustrated, and tired—and definitely not healthy.
The good news? With the support of a compassionate and experienced dietitian, you can put yourself back in the driver's seat and become an empowered and joyful eater.

Nutrition counseling can help you heal your relationship to food.
We are dietitians passionate about working with people who want to take the reigns back from diet culture and find freedom within their relationships with food. Whether you've been dieting for your entire life or just the last few months, our dietitians can help you develop a more sustainable, peaceful, and joyful way of eating.
What's included in nutrition counseling
We take a non-diet and health-focused (versus weight-focused) approach to nutrition counseling, and we address all aspects of our clients’ health – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. In other words, we look at the whole picture and the whole person—not just numbers and labs.
Depending on our clients’ needs, we provide fluid meal planning, nutrition education, meal- and snack-time support, intuitive eating and exercise tools, metabolic lab evaluation, nutrition tracking, as well as self-care tools clients can use for the rest of their lives. We provide our clients with nutrition guidance to help them manage and heal health issues, fully trust their bodies, and uncover their intuitive abilities to nourish themselves for the rest of their lives — in a sustainable and joyful way. We also take a deep dive into clients' belief systems, thought processes, and feelings around food—all at a pace that feels best to them.
Plus, we provide the option to incorporate yoga, breathing and other meditation and mindfulness techniques into our sessions. We believe these are valuable tools to help clients regulate their nervous systems, and get and stay connected to their best teachers and nutritionists — their bodies.
Finally, we offer collaborative sessions with our clients' loved ones when it makes sense.
Each dietitian on our team has years of experience helping clients manage and heal health issues without being on crazy diets, and loves witnessing clients take their power back from diet culture.
You might still have questions about nutrition counseling.
What if I do want to lose weight?
While we are not a weight-loss practice and we believe health can exist in all bodies, we will hold space for your weight loss desire and help you to address all aspects of your health. Sometimes, weight loss is a result of behavior changes our clients make, and sometimes it's not.
What if it feels hard to share my food history with a dietitian?
Our relationships to food are deeply personal and we understand the vulnerability that's required to heal your relationship to it. We encourage clients to go at a pace that feels right for them and never push our clients to share before they're ready. Safety and trust in our client relationships are our number one priorities.
Do you take insurance for nutrition counseling?
While we do not directly bill insurance, we do provide clients (upon request) with superbills that they can submit to their insurers for potential reimbursement. Some of our clients get reimbursed and others don't—it depends on their plan. We also offer reduced fees for clients who need them.
